As a craft field and art medium, woodturning has exploded in the last several decades. I find it especially meaningful and fulfilling to witness and be a part of this creative direction, as well as challenged in new and exciting ways by the artistic and technical avenues into which this medium has expanded and continues to grow.

In the process of creating and refining a successful form, I seek to explore and focus on the natural qualities of wood. Producing a turned item on the lathe is a creative adventure, from initially seeing what a tree section will reveal to using it to advantage in fashioning an appealing piece of art.
